Close Knit Friends has grown to a weekly group of close knit friends who share fellowship, fun, and support while sharing talents and opportunities for service. New knitters and crocheters are welcome! Look forward to meeting fellow crafters for a weekend retreat sharing projects, opportunities for service, fun and relaxation!

Youth Leader Retreat

Our guest speaker is Ann Smetana, who has worked as a mental health professional in the Black River Falls community. She brings knowledge from her undergraduate degree in sociology and her master's degree in psychology. She brings experience from years working in both residential and day treatment facilities teaching character building, ethical decision making in groups, and treatment groups. Most recently, Ann has focused her time on younger folks, raising her two dynamic daughters (ages 6 and 8) and operating a daycare. She has done public speaking about self-harm, one of the issues facing our young people today. Her sessions with us will include:

  • Body Language Basics: Understanding what youth aren't saying
  • Common Struggles that Youth Face
  • Respect and Connect: What to do next

We will also be welcoming a guest from the Global Missions Fellow ministry from the General Board of Global Mission. We will learn more about how to share this young adult opportunity with the older youth in our congregations.
